This week NASA Ready to Fly Rocket to the Moon

FLORIDA - NASA's Gravity Recovery And states that the Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) prototype aimed at Moon mission ready for launch on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The mission aims to find out the mystery of the formation of the Moon.

The main objective of this new mission to the Moon's gravity is to map the core of which is around the Moon in detail. It has not previously been investigated by researchers. This will provide an opportunity for researchers to understand how the initial formation of the Earth's natural satellite is.

GRAIL will take off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) Space Launch Complex 17B (SLC-17B), by boarding a rocket Delta II 7920H-10 which is the delivery system.

Experts say there are only two chances to perform at the launch next Thursday is at 08:37 and 09:16 local time. If the launch was successful and in accordance with the opportunities that exist, then the GRAIL will certainly landed on the Moon during the New Year. It is quoted Softpedia Tuesday (09/06/2011).

Maria Zuber, one of the main team of the GRAIL mission of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) said that the spacecraft will reveal to us all menganai history of the moon and Earth, and will provide important data for the exploration of the Moon in the future.

Because the mission is just using a fairly low budget, that is USD496 million, the GRAIL trip to the Moon will take a little longer. NASA chose the orbit of Lagrange Point 1 is located between the Sun-Earth.
